The North Coast Knife Club can boast a number of renowned knifemakers in their ranks.
To keep to our commitment of raising the profiles of our local talent, KZNknifemakers is running a competition within the North Coast Knifemakers club for a “knife of the month” or KOTM for short. Every member has the opportunity to submit one or more of their works to their peers and the Kznknifemakers community each calendar month.
The winner will have their work featured as the WhatsApp group profile pic, the club’s Facebook group header image, and of course on the kznknifemakers’s facebook page and website for the month. All the monthly winners will be in the running for the Knife of the Year accolade and be featured in the forthcoming 2022 calendar.
We had a number of great submissions from the makers in May 2021 to choose from but there can only be one winner. It was a close race but Stefan Diedericks’s Damasteel & Ivory hunter stole the honors.
Stefan, known for his slip-joint folding knives, made a stunning hunting knife with mirror stainless damascus blade, stippled bolster and ivory handle scales on red liners.
Congratulations to Stefan (Formerly Mandeni, KZN).
